Ferne Millen is an internationally recognised photographer. Ferne originally specialised in photography for the entertainment industry. This field enables Ferne to demonstrate her ability to capture the great moments of individual performances; a skill that comes from a shared passion and sensitivity to artistic processes.
Over time Ferne’s portfolio expanded to include clients with a diverse range of commercial interests to include Audi, Porsche, City of Melbourne, Citi Power, Houses Magazine, The Arts Centre, Port Fairy Folk Festival, MSO and many Australian and International Artists and Musicians.
Her art practice continues to gain momentum having been selected consecutively as a finalist in The National Photographic Portrait Prize in 2014 and 2015 as well as being selected as a dual finalist in 2014 in Australia’s most prestigious art prize, The Moran Prize.
In approaching her work Ferne’s philosophy is to strive for photography with purpose and clarity. Ferne has been praised by many of her clientele for the crispness and depth she obtains in her photographs as well as the ability to capture truly ‘the essence’ of their businesses and operations.
